as painstakingly as it is the person who wrote this piece doesnt understand the concept of democracy.

beautiful piece of work indeed but for what purpose? to be remaining complacent in a current corrupt regime? while the writer digests the characters of cory et al. he/she didnt illustrate any alternative him/herself.

and to that effect the whole write up could be summarized as follows.

That is right, YOU!

While I felt outraged that she called a Comelec official during the elections and that she may have rigged the elections, I have since then taken the higher moral ground and forgiven her. Yes my dear bishops, I have done what you have told me to do since I was a child, which you say is the Christian and moral thing to do: forgive. Especially since she has asked for forgiveness and has tried to make amends for it. Erap certainly has not apologized and continues to be defiant, continuing to insult us everyday with his protestations - and he is part of your cause now! Cory has not apologized for her incompetence but we have forgiven her just the same because like GMA, she has worked hard after all.
So please wake up and take a reality check. In the absence of true and genuine moral leadership, many of us have decided to cast our lot with the President, even if we do not like her. A flawed leader is better than scheming power hungry fools who can not even stand up for their convictions in the face of an impending arrest.”

the writer only moves for the prpose of when he/she fits as selfish as it sounds he/she wasnt even able to articulate what progress GMA is really doing and even capitalizes on her apology.

he/she concentrated on looking for an alternative while he hated erap as a criminal and so on and forth for the other hypocrites as he/she fondly calls the detractors.

i say this is no more but an elementary way of arguing for a cretin.

I’d like to share a good commentary on Filipino politicians by

FOR “A FEW DUMB POLITICIANS”

“Here we go again. The dumb politicians are once more holding the whole nation hostage. In the past several days, the likes of Sen. Nene Pimentel and Congressmen Francis Escudero and Jacinto Paras are again posturing at the expense of the Filipino people. This time their excuse is the truth.

Exactly what truth are you trying to find out, sirs? Eh, umamin na nga ang Presidente! ano pa ba ang gusto niyo? If you think the President has committed an offense, then please file the appropriate actions and shut up! Stop holding press conferences or appearing on television to air your grievances because the media is not the proper forum for it. Being members of the law-making body, you’re supposed to use the legal framework that Congress itself has created. You should be the first to follow the law. The trouble with these politicians and those calling for a leadership change is that they don’t know their action is bleeding the country dry.

MGA BOBO KASI. They are not only insensitive, they are ignorant of the sufferings of ordinary men like me. I bet my last pair of socks that you, Congressman Escudero, don’t even know the simplest needs of the common tao. Or that you and your fellow useless politicians are so stupid to know that your calls for GMA’s resignation is, in fact, the reason why the stock market is down and the exchange rate up. Heck, I seriously doubt you can stipulate the effects of a fluctuating peso, let alone know what a Moody’s “downgrade” is. MGA BOBO KASI.

I challenge you Congressman Escudero to take a one-year leave of absence from Congress to take a job in the private sector and live-off the salary of a daily wage earner. Isama mo pa si Susan Roces at saka si Bro. Eddie villanueva. I can guarantee all of you: you will not last 30 days before calling it quits! Now, if you’re not willing to come out of your comfort zone, then I challenge you to a debate—- to prove to our countrymen that you’re all stupid. Don’t be intimidated: I am just an ordinary workingman and not connected to any group that can tutor me about policy issues. It’s easy for you to hostage the economy because you know your congressman’s salary is assured for the next three years. I challenge you to stop living off the taxes of the Filipino people or the tithes and offerings of your members!

The other night Susan Roces’ apo declared to the media that what his lola is doing will benefit the Filipino people. Are you nuts? what do you know about our plight here in the Philippines? What do you know about the effects your lola’s speech will have on the economy? You’re living in the U.S.A. for Pete’s sake! Before you open your mouth, try living here first and enroll at a public school with insufficient number of books! It’s so unfair that a few dumb politicians and reckless individuals have the power to bring down the whole country. Doubly unfair that Cebuanos like me suffer for the stupid decisions made by the horde of uneducated people in Manila. I studied hard–heck, even worked to pay for my last year in college to be where I am now. I pity the employees of foreign-owned companies like me,who are now in danger of losing their jobs because of the uncertainty nowbesetting the nation. The Filipino people deserve better. Kung hindi pa niyo nalalaman, tapos napo ang election. It’s time to move on. Congress has better things to do than to meddle in governance. Congress and the Arroyo administration must work together to cut the deficit now, keep the exchange rate stable and the inflation rate in check. Simple lang ang kailangan ng bawat Pilipino—ang mabuhay ng maayos. I do not aspire to run for Congress or lead a congregation and live off the tithes and offerings of flocks. I just want to live a comfortable, if not decent life. Truth has no profound meaning for me if I lose my job and sleep with an empty stomach.”

ang aking comment:

i pity him.

not because he’s too honest to begin with that is honest enough to
admit that all he wants to maintain is not to sleep with an empty
stomach.

but what really predisposes me to want to alter his imaginary
meanderings and his resorting to character assasinations i’d rather
let him asks questions than suffer the consequences of his reactions.

when he accentuated the “stupidity of the people in the government” i
pity him because he’s not looking on the long term effects of what
he’s tryin to maintain as a status quo.

i would want to ask him questions instead.

would he want to stay in this kind of situation?
would he want a better life for his family or for himself?
if hes not happy with what is happening did he even raised a voice
before and even worked for a better future for our country?

i am not defending anyone but it irritates me that when a revolution
or lets just say change comes in the way and opens up opportunities
for people and we’d rather sulk back in the comforts of our homes and
be satisfied with what we have than strive for something better.

sir mike talked to me last sunday.

he said if we take away arroyo what would happen to our country?
what would happen to our economy?
what would happen to people who trusts investors to give them jobs?
who would replace GMA?

i answered him.

if GMA stayed dont you think we’d develop? she did this to herself
and yes she admitted that she did something wrong but is not facing
accountability. would you want a president like that?
was our economy better off then and now just because GMA’s there? or
would it be better given that shes not there? can we make it better if
we take away the policies she herself drafted specially the vat law
that would hurt the middle and lower class but the upper class she
gave tax holidays?
on people who trusts investors to give them jobs and on our government
who depends on investors if thats true that it helps ameliorate the
conditions of the filipino why is it that we have so many unemployed?
we have a very high unemployment rate and its getting higher and
higher through the years as filipinos cannot afford to go to schoola
and our government prioritizes paying off debts that are questionable
in nature and borrowing more from the world bank than what we can pay?
for the record GMA borrowed thrice as much as erap or FVR did! the
truth of th matter is that we have been dependent and have always been
on foreign aid we failed to be independent and now we are suffering
the consequences of our actions.
(now here is the next answer and this is tricky)
who would replace her? the people who are tired of being hungry and
impoverished. them who knows the suffering of the people.

i was told by my old professor in High School
when we talked about the state of our country…

“our generation, failed your generation.”

we have an opportunity now to change our country and we dont need the
truth for whatever selfish purpose it may serve those trapos.

the truth is sawa na tayo sa mga nangyayari sa pinas. ngayon
nagkapatong patong na!

wala ka parin bang gagawin?

kahit man lang ipaalam sa ibang tao na ayaw mong ang mga anak mo ang
magdusa sa pagiging indifferent mo sa paligid mo?

mas gugustuhin mo parin bang matulog nang may laman ang tyan pero di
mo alam kung yung mga apo mo sa tuhod eh meron?

Walang kwenta ang Pilipinas

Hindi ko na mapigilan ang sarili ko. Sukang-suka na ko sa mga nangyayari sa bansang ‘to!

Walang katapusang corruption, walang kamatayang pangbabatikos, pagbabatuhan ng tae at pagpapa-taasan ng ihi ng mga pulitiko sa bawat isa, walang tigil na imbestigasyon ng kung ano-anong isyu pero wala namang matinong resolusyon, walang puknat na pag-aagawan ng
kapangyarihan sa pagitan ng mga partido, patuloy na pagdami ng tamad at tangang Pilipino, patuloy na pakikipaglaban ng ideolohiyang wala namang silbi.

Ang gobyerno ng Pilipinas, talo pa ang septic tank na hinihigop ng Malabanan - saksakan ng dumi at napakabaho. Kaya hindi nakakapagtaka na ang Pilipinas ang isa sa pinakamahirap at corrupt na bansa sa mundo. Kasi lahat sila bulok, lahat sila walang kwenta. Lahat sila sugapa
sa kapangyarihan at sa pera.

Tuwing nakikita ko ang payslip ko, nag-iinit ang ulo ko at gusto kong maiyak sa inis. Napakalaki ng tax na binabawas sa akin pero ginagamit lang sa walang kwentang bagay ang perang pinaghirapan ko.

Lahat ng pagtitipid ginagawa ko para suportahan ang sarili ko, pamilya ko at ang punyetang bansang to. Ni hindi ako makabili ng chicken and spaghetti meal sa Jollibee kahit gutom na gutom na ko. Nag-tya-tyaga ako sa waffle na tig-P10, o kaya pag may konting pera, junior bola-bola siopao sa Mini-Stop sa halangang P20.

Eh kung yung pera ko na pinapangbabayad sa tax sa kin na lang napunta, eh di sana nakakapanood pa ko ng sine at least 2 beses sa isang buwan. Nakabili na sana ako ng bagong rubber shoes. Nakapagpagawa na sana ako ng sarili kong bahay.

Yung tax na binabayad ko, karamihan nun derecho sa bulsa ng mga corrupt na mga government officials at workers. Habang hirap na hirap akong i-budget ang pera ko, sila naman nagpapakasarap sa mga mansyon. SUV’s at luxury cars pa ang dina-drive nila, samantalang ako sa pedicab lang sumasakay!

P****** INA! PERA KO YANG PINAPAGPAPASASAAN NYO!!!!!

Yung tax na binabayad ko, pinapangsuporta sa mga mahihirap. Saan ba galing ang pera pangpagawa ng housing at pagtulong sa mga mahihirap, di ba sa mga manggagawa na nagbabayad ng buwis! Pero karamihan ng mahihirap, kung umasta kala mo inaapi sila ng sobra.

SA TOTOO LANG NO, KAYA ANG MGA MAHIHIRAP LALONG NAGHIHIRAP KASI MGA TAMAD!

Ang daming mga tambay sa kalye na walang trabaho pero ang laki ng katawan. Eh kung sila ba nagkargador sa pier eh di sana may pera sila.

TAPOS WALA NA NGANG PERA, ANAK PA NG ANAK!

PUNYETA! LALO NYO LANG PINAPADAMI ANG TAMAD AT TANGA SA MUNDO!!!!!

Naaawa ako sa mga batang pakalat-kalat sa kalye at namamalimos. Imbes na nag-aaral, dumadagdag lang sila sa bilang ng mga future criminals sa Pinas. Hindi ako magtataka na yung batang nakita kong namamalimos sa Cubao, pagkatapos ng ilang taon cellphone snatcher na.

Alisin (mas maganda kung patayin na lang) ang lahat ng pulitiko at political families sa puwesto. Tibagin ang lahat ng mapanirang organizations at grupo. Itapon sa malayong isla o kaya i-pwersa ng hard labor ang mga sobrang tamad na mga Pilipino. Ihiwalay ang mga bata sa kanilang mga tamad at tangang magulang upang makapag-aral sila at maturuan na maging mabuting tao at mamamayan. Magkaron ng bagong lider na walang political ties at utang na loob sa kahit sino. At higit sa lahat, dapat tax payers lang ang pwedeng bumoto!

Kung kinakailangang magka-giyera para magtino ang mga Pilipino, ayos lang. Masyado na kasing matigas ang ulo ng mga tao dito. Gusto ng kalayaan, pero hindi naman handang panagutan ang responsibilidad ng pagiging malaya. Meron daw pinaglalaban na prinsipyo at adhikain pero takot namang mamatay para dito.

Hangga’t hindi nagkakaron ng radical change, patuloy na walang kwenta ang Pilipinas at patuloy na magiging tanga ang majority ng mga Pilipino.

Sa dami ng nag-mi-migrate na Pilipino sa ibang bansa, dadating ang panahon na minority na lang ng population sa Pilipinas ang may utak. Yung mga magagaling na Pilipino, malamang maubos na. Sobra na kasi silang na-fru-frustrate at na-de-depress sa mga nakikita nila.

Ilang taon pa at aalis na rin ako sa Pilipinas. Wala kong balak na magkaron ng pamilya sa isang bansa na hindi pinapahalagahan ang kontribusyon ng mga taong tunay na bumubuhay dito. Kawawa naman ang magiging anak ko kung dito sya mabubuhay.

Sa totoo lang, broken hearted ako. Minahal ko din ang bansang ito. Pilit kong pinagtatanggol kahit bulok. Nakarating na ko ng ibang bansa, pero pinili kong bumalik. Pero ngayon, ayoko na. Suko na ko. Sayang lang ako sa bansang to. Simple lang naman ang hiling ko. Gusto ko lang mabuhay ng tahimik at maayos. Gusto ko na kahit paano eh maipagmalaki ang Pilipinas. Pero wala eh. Doomed to be jologs ang bansang to.

ang sarap basahin ng sinulat ni jawbreaker kung talagang asar ka na sa mga nangyayari sa paligid mo. pero palagay ko tanga si jawbreaker dahil sa tatlong kadahilanan:

unang-una ang mga sinasabi nyang mga masa eh ang mga taong nagtatapon at kumukuha ng mga basura niya, naglilinis ng mga tae sa poso negro nya. sila rin ang nagkakabit ng mga linya ng telepono at nagaayos ng mga sira sa bubong ng bahay nya. sila yung mga taong nasa baba na iniisip nyang mga walang silbi. sila yung mga nagtitinda ng mga makakain niya at sila rin ang mga taong nagdadrayb ng mga sinasakyan nyang bus at jeep. sila yung tagagaw ng mga buildings at flyovers na kinukuha sa tax nya!

sa madaling salita isa syang tanga kung di nya napapansin ang mga bagay na ito. kung ang tingin niya sa lahat ng taong nagbabayad ng tax ay ang mga taong yun lang ang may karapatan na mabadtrip eh pasensya sya.

ang pinaguusapan dito ay hindi lang tungkol sa kahirapan ngunit sa pagkakaron ng pantay-pantay na oportunidad. hindi dahil tamad sila lahat dahil sa pagkakaalam ko sila ang mga magtataho at mg magbabalot na may-ari ng mga lansangan. hindi pa uso call centers dati na silang nagtatawag ng mga kostumer sa kanilang malulupit na boses.

at sinong magsasabing hindi nag-take advantage si jawbreaker sa mga taong ito? eh ang alam lang nyang gawin eh magbayad ng tax?

ang pangalawang katangahan ni jawbreaker eh hindi niya binanggit kung natulungan ba nya o may nagawa ba sya bilang isang pilipino upang pagandahin ang buhay ng mga nasa paligid nya at pagandahin ang takbo ng bansa nya. sa pagkakaalam ko ang isang tao ay may karapatang magreklamo kung sya mismo ay may ginagawa i mean may moral ascendancy sya para sabihing walang kwenta ang mga pinoy. bakit? sa tingin niya pag nagbayad siya ng tax yun na lang ang paraan para maging pinoy na nakakatulong sa bansa nya? palagay ko mas tinotolerate pa nya yung mga kurakot kaysa labanan at puksain ang kagaguhan sa gobyerno.

ngayon kung ang problema nya eh di nya masikmura ang bansa nya at hindi niya matanggap na madaming mahirap sa bansa nya na hindi ma-afford magbayad ng tax katulad niya. at kung ang dahilan nya kaya sukang suka na siya sa pilipinas eh dahil bumalik pa sya dito para lang daw maghirap at magalit sa mga nagrarally at gustong gumanda ang buhay kaya nagrarally at sawang sawa din sa kahirapan tulad nya eh di umalis na lang sya sa pinas.

hindi kailangan ng bansa ang mga makasariling mga taong katulad nya na hindi marunong makiramdam at akala mo kung sinong taas noong nagmamalaki na may binabayarang tax eh wala namang pakialam kung saan gagamitin to at kung meron man eh nagbibingibingihan.

TANGA si jawbreaker isang malaking TANGA!

ang pangatlong kadahilanan kung bakit tanga si jawbreaker eh dahil hindi nya ginagamit ang galing nya para pagandahin ang buhay nya sa halip reklamo lang sya ng reklamo eh anong magagawa ng reklamo kung wala ka namang ginagawang aksyon para maayos ang problema? para kang nagdadasal na makapasa ng exam eh di ka naman nag aral! tanga talaga isang malaking tanga!

kaya jawbreaker kung nasaan ka man PUNYETA KA!

sigurado ko hindi mo pa naranasang maging isang mahirap at mabuhay sa tabi ng riles ng tren o kaya sa ilalim ng tulay at tigasan ng may nakabukakang babae sa tabi mo para kantutin! at hindi mo pa naranasang mabuhay ng mababa pa sa 50 pesos ang kita sa isang araw kasi wala ka namang natapos at kailangan daw may natapos ang isang empleyado kahit man lang High skul eh elementary nga di mo natapos dahil mahirap ka nga!

kaya jawbreaker subukan mo munang maging mahirap bago ka magsalita laban sa mga mahihirap ok?

Shortage? What shortage?

So what now of Fe Hidalgo and her report to GMA on the situation of education in the country?
matagal na problema na yan.
bata pako yan na ang problema eh.
nakakasawa na nga isipin.

while some others agree na dapat i-privatize nalang ang education kasi hindi naman mapagkakatiwalaan ang government para hawakan ito
i say na its like being tolerant of an instituiton who holds grave responsibility and leaving it to the dogs at that if you just keep silent.

In UP malaking debate yan.
na kesyo yung mga lupa daw hindi nagagamit kasi walang pang gastos ang gobyerno para gamitin ito so sayang lang ang lupa might as well na tayuan ito ng building or i-lease sa mga ayala
at gawan ng mini-mall para gatasan ang mga estudyante at makakuha ng funds para sa eskwela or worse than ever eh hati-hatiin ang skwela at gawing shares.
at totoo lang na dadating ang panahon na tataas na sobra ang tuition at tuluyan nang mawawalan ng chance mag-aral ang mga bata.

but were just looking at the tertiary level here
ang problema nagsisimula sa mga pinakasinaunang pagkakataon pa which is ang primary education ng mga bata sa bansa.
for one the government isnt looking for any ways to make the education of this country better.
kung titingnan nang budget allocation ng gobyerno sa education hindi malayong matawa ka na lang kung ikukumpara mo ito sa kinukurakot nila.

so whats left of our children?
kahapon napanood ko sa tv 300-400 thousand daw ang nagprotesta sa chile para kondenahin ang gobyerno at i-push na pagandahin ang edukasyon ng bansa.
bakit hindi ganun sa pilipinas?
bakit hindi malakas ang loob natin?
bakit pinapabayaan lang natin ang gobyernong manatiling bingi sa mga nangyayari sa kalidad ng edukasyon na taon taon bumababa?

para sakin hindi solusyon ang i-privatize ang edukasyon
sa lagay pala yung mga may kaya lang ang pwedeng makapag-aral???
para sakin hindi rin solusyon ang tumahimik at mag-tiis na lang.
ginawa na ni rizal yun
nakinig siya na may sense or reason ang mga nasa gobyerno
na may puso sila para makinig sa mga mahihirap
eh ngayon ano?
blatantly kinokondena ng simbahan ang Da vinci code
pero yung presidenteng nasa harapan nila hindi

natutuwa ang mga tao sa pagdating sa tuktok ng bundok
pero hindi nila pinapansin pag may isang mahirap na batang hindi man lang marating ang pagkakataon na makapag-aral…

may kasabihan nga
bago tulungan ang ibang tao
tulungan mo muna ang sarili mo.

pero pano mo naman matutulungan ang sarili mo kung yung paligid mo eh pinapahirapan ka?

masyado na siguro tayong naging makasarili.
kaya ngayon… mga anak naman natin ang isusunod targetin ng kamangmangan…

On Danilo Lim's Rebellion

i remember when i was asked by a relative of mine why i didn't took up Law.

without batting an eyelash i answered him right away.

“because our laws doesnt work for us, instead it even works against us.”

he asked why, so i explained:

“1st reason is that because the medium that it was written in is in english”

“2nd reason is that majority of filipinos are illiterate”

“3rd reason this kind of democracy is not particularly sympathetic of the masses”

“4th reason majority of lawyers take advantage of their clients or yet our courts are corrupt.”

“5th reason thus being corrupt there is no real justice in our courts”

after the fifth my relative seemed transfixed and bewildered.

he just bowed and talked about other things. maybe thats how much one becomes cynical when they ask me questions about our country but the heck i was just stating the truth…

and lately after the showing of the tape of General Danilo Lim i have yet to add another reason.

“6th reason is because the constitution is for victors and those in power”

funny to quote the constitution against a “supposed to be coup-plotter” or yet a destabilizer
when he withdrew his support of the current government.

and doubly funny to go back and listen to the “bold” words of Angelo Reyes when he also withdrew his support from Erap in the “Edsa 2″ phenomenon.

its true perhaps what Miriam Defensor Santiago stated that the difference between the two was that the former prevailed while the latter didnt.

ergo: Angelo Reyes’ withdrawal holds water and Danilo Lims doesnt therefore Danilo Lim has to go to jail, quoting from the same constitution the government of Arroyo was sworn into.

that while not being revolutionary in essence it boasts of its consistent adoration of the constitution. yet it uses its constitution against those who disagree with the government or even those who disavow it.

i have my spite against the showing of the video it reflects of bad taste and perhaps the worst of it when ABS-CBN showed it in their news program “Bandila”.

for one it reeks of sensationalism while placing a persons safety as well as the nations’ when it gave the government the enjoyment of rationalizing its actions against the people.

by the video it would stand that indeed there was a conspiracy between the left and the right.

that circumscribed by the intent of the video in itself it gives credence to the legitimacy of the military (the concurrent killings and so on and forth) practical in nature and thus holds water because of the video.

true, that the video itself is newsworthy by virtue of Danilo Lim once being linked as one of the perpetrators of the alleged coup.

true that once he led a coup that failed and now he might as well start one.

but then were missing the point.

we are just looking at the tip of an iceberg.

the deeper end of it is plunged in the ever deeper darker precipice of corruption, cheating, murder, and overall disregard to human rights by this government.

and all that ABS-CBN did was point its fingers to Danilo Lim as if he was the one who wants to put this country into ruins.

as if we werent in one after GMA sat in office.

it should be understood that Danilo Lim was a consequence, and not a catalyst.

he was in the position of power capable of exacting change and he knew the most formidable ally of the people is the military.

yet he failed miserably.

and ABS-CBN was only happy that it was able to show something truthful that indeed there was a tape.

the only consolation perhaps was that the tape was able to show tirelessness in our military.

a powerful blow to this government and one that it has to take seriously.

and perhaps also that the opposition is desperate to shake up the people and make them more concerned about the government.

i have to admit the showing of the video works both ways.

tricky, tricky, tricky…

yet its taking its effect…
